It has been a busy few weeks in Room 18. It was wonderful to meet with our parents at conferences and plan together to make this year a productive, enjoyable year for our students. Reading with your child remains the pivotal role you can take at home to help your child become a better reader. Turning everyday moments into math moments will help our students realize that math is really EVERYWHERE!! The grocery store is a great place to talk money and quantities. Driving in the car is another time to sharpen those math skills - take turns give each other math fact questions....it will make a difference!
The Girls' Group had a game day last week. So sweet to see them taking turns and negotiating what game to play - both wonderful life skills. The Lego Lunch guys continue to amaze Mrs. Wescott and me with their Lego creations. If anyone has Legos that they are ready to pass along to a worthy cause, we would love to add them to our Lego collection.
This week the girls will be "cooking up something delicious" and the boys will again dive into the Legos and dazzle us with their creativity.
