A great group of guys, a bunch of legos, and lunch - it doesn't get much better than that! A group of 10 boys is gathering in Room 18 on Thursdays for the next 8 weeks to share their lego building skills. I was floored by what the guys could build in a short amount time. Creative and cooperative are just a couple words that would describe the guys in "Lego Lunch". Enjoy a few pictures of our time together. Mrs. Wescott and I are excited to see what they build this week!
We have started a group for 3rd grade girls. The girls gather on Tuesdays during their lunch break with the sole purpose of having fun together. We brainstormed some ideas that we would like to do during our 8 week session. The group is very creative and came up with tons of ideas! I'm not sure we'll be able to accomplish all their terrific ideas, but we're off to a fantastic start. During our 1st week we introduced ourselves, became fast friends, and decided what we would like to do. Our second week activity was to make friendship bracelets. The color combinations the girls picked out were really quite stunning - they have a great sense of color/style. The third week had us painting pumpkins. Below are a few pictures that hopefully capture the fun we had- the girls really are having a nice time together. They are so encouraging to each other. Keep checking back to see some of our other meetings. After reading a book about making homemade ice cream during 3rd grade iTime, we thought we needed to try out the recipe in Room 18. A few simple ingredients and a whole lot of shaking and we had delicious ice cream. Ask your student if they remember the recipe or send an email and I'll send you the recipe. Mr. Boyink might have had a little too much shaking time!! Our hands would get very, very cold! |
